Motek 2011 in Stuttgart
Beckhoff presented its PC- and EtherCAT-based automation solutions for assembly and handling at Motek 2011, which took place from 10 to 13 October in Stuttgart. Of the total of about 36,000 visitors from 96 countries, 20 per cent were from foreign countries. In addition, there was a significant increase in the internationality of the exhibitors: 945 exhibitors
from 21 different countries presented their solutions at Motek.
One of the major items of this year’s trade fair presentation was the expansion of the drive equipment range by compact, economical drive solutions in the low power range, which can be fully integrated into the scalable and universal Beckhoff automation system.
A further highlight was the high-performance control solutions in the handling sector. Here, Beckhoff demonstrated the seamless integration of robot kinematics into the TwinCAT automation software, taking a delta robot from KOCH Pac-Systeme GmbH as an example. “With the live demonstration we were able to present the optimum synchronisation of the robotics and Motion Control functions, which thus ensures maximum picking performances”, explains Frank Saueressig, Manager of the Beckhoff branch office in Balingen. “The Motek 2011 fulfilled our expectations at every level. The high number of visitors, particularly from the international environment, testifies to a full success for the automation industry”, says Frank Saueressig, summing up.
